Join Wild Whales researcher Alana Phillips at a special Leatherback Sea Turtle Awareness Event at the Vancouver Aquarium, Saturday May 31, 2008. Organized by a local Grade 6 student, this event aims to raise awareness for the plight of the critically endangered leatherback sea turtle. Join us for a short walk in Stanley Park, followed by presentations by Wild Whales, Ocean Wise, Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, and Todd Jones, sea turtle researcher at the University of British Columbia. All proceeds will support the B.C. Cetacean Sightings Network’s efforts to conserve leatherback turtles in B.C.

Meet at the Stanley Park totem poles at 11:30 am on Saturday May 31, 2008. For more information, contact Wild Whales or Robin Delpino. Visit our species pages to learn more about leatherback sea turtles in B.C.
