B.C. Cetacean Census Weekend
Celebrate B.C. Day By Helping Our Most Iconic Animals
The B.C. Cetacean Sightings Network is conducting a coast-wide cetacean census from August 4th-6th, 2018. We are encouraging all coastal citizens to follow the Whale Trail, a series of sites to view cetaceans (whales, dolphins, and porpoises) and other marine mammals from shore, and report their sightings using the WhaleReport app. The B.C. Cetacean Sightings Network relys on citizen scientists like yourself to report their sightings…if you don’t report it, we don’t know it’s there!
By reporting your sightings, you will help researchers determine the abundance, distribution, and habitat use of these threatened and endangered animals in the North Pacific.
So grab your binoculars and head to the shore! From Victoria to Prince Rupert, what will you discover?
