Bellhouse ParkGaliano Island, B.C.
Humpback whale numbers have been recovering since whaling was banned off Canada’s Pacific coast in 1966. Pacific-white sided dolphins, killer whales and grey whales have also returned, now that these waters are recovering from past industrial activities and pollution. The waters off Bellhouse Provincial Park, where the Strait of Georgia meets Active Pass, are important to these marine animals. Help protect these fragile marine waters.
